Shaved Ice Ball

Shaved ice compacted into a ball, splashed all over with sasparila and orange flavored syrup, as well as green and red rose syrup. What you get is a colorful Ais Kepal, ready to be devoured. As the creator cum seller I had the luxury of indulging on it myself. Besides ais kepal the other creation is Air Batu Campur, which is shaved ice served with jellies, beans, corn and nuts with a generous helping of syrups and two different types of milk. The main equipment used was a manual ice shaver. What was special about this ice shaver was that it was hand made by Tokki from pieces of wood and a carpenter's blade. To hold the ice while shaving it was a piece of wood with nails hammered through. An ingenious gadget to give such great pleasure. With the right equipment now I can still create marvelous ais kepal.
